In this book we will elaborate on Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). These systems are also known as drones and UAV’s (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). In this book will be discussed what UAS’ are and what the legal limits are of the use of those unmanned systems.  This book will first zoom in on Lawful conflicts between Nations based on the United Nation charter. Second, on  International Humanitarian law of war based on the first Geneva protocol. Moreover, the legality of Targeted Killing with the use of unmanned systems will be discussed. Product Description

This book contains the story of one of the survivors of the plane crash in Faro in 1992. It’s also a report on the failure of systems and institutions that are intended to assist persons in need of support after such a disaster.

Finally it is a testimony to the resilience and ingenuity of the individual, the survivor as well as his family and friends and committed professionals.December 21, 1992: A disaster struck Faro, Portugal. A Dutch Martinair DC-10 crashed at the airport leaving many passengers dead or wounded. Cor ten Hove, the author of this book, was a passenger on that plane. He survived, but his life would never be the same. In this book he describes the plane crash and the impact it has had on his life ever since. He has had to deal with, and is still dealing with problems relating to health care, insurance, legal cases, financial concerns, employment, interactions with government bureaucracies, and much more.

The surveys included in this book, conducted among survivors and relatives of the victims of the Faro air disaster, show that this is not the story of one man. It’s not even the story of only Faro air disaster survivors. Unfortunately it’s the story of many individuals who have found the path to recovery littered with unanticipated obstacles. Modern society, its institutions and legal systems are poorly prepared to deal with complicated situations that persist in the long term. If a situation is too complex and lasts too long, the institutions in question increasingly seem to insist that the individual just needs to get over it and move on.The imperative is to face what this story says about the limited ability of societal systems to meet their obligations to the individuals who constitute society. The first step towards achieving this is to develop greater social awareness of the effects of disasters, so that inter-related effects are not treated as unrelated problems.

Product Description

The term "Space Law" refers to the body of international and national laws and customs governing human activities in outer space. For the past half century, the majority of outer space operations have been conducted by government agencies. We now, however, stand at the precipice of a new era in spaceflight. Following the retirement of the Space Shuttle, private companies are preparing to assume many of the missions traditionally undertaken by governments and to open outer space to the general public. At the same time, questions of ownership and commercialization, environmental protection, as well as peaceful and equitable use of outer space, are rising. As space activities grow, space law will have to face new challenges.

This first volume of the series "Ultimate Collection in Space Law" is consisted of the five international legal instruments, namely the Outer Space Treaty, the Rescue Agreement, the Liability Convention, the Registration Convention and the Moon Agreement, as well as, the most important declarations and principles as well as relevant Resolutions of the General Assembly. These instruments provide for non-appropriation of outer space by any one country, arms control, the freedom of exploration, liability for damage caused by space objects, the safety and rescue of spacecrafts and astronauts, the prevention of harmful interference with space activities, scientific investigation and the exploitation of natural resources in outer space and the settlement of disputes.

According to corpus juris spatialis every State shall bear international responsibility for national activities of non-governmental entities in outer space. The national space activities are attributed to States through the launching and registration of a space object. The registration of space objects by the launching State, the State which procures the launching or the State from whose territory or facility a space object is launched, is an obligation of States which deems them responsible. National space laws and regulations are the toolbox of States to implement international obligations at the national level by assuring the conformity of the non-governmental and commercial entities when carrying out space
activities with the international space law. The national space laws of each space-faring country are included in this second volume “National Space Legislation” of the series “Ultimate Collection in Space Law.
